Postcard Post
I have a cough and a sore throat. I’m achy, feverish, nauseous, whiny and completely uninspired to write anything interesting. So instead of moaning, I thought I’d show you the postcards we’ve received from Postcrossing so far.
Hello! Here is a little bit of Germany, Cologne for you! The city is very beautiful and always offers a pleasant atmosphere for foreign people. Take care and happy postcrossing. Ana Claudia.
Hello and greetings from rainy Finland. My name is Sari and I live in Mäntsälä, which is a county in the southern Finland. I work at the health central as a food service superior. Best wishes and happy postcrossing. Yours, Sari.
Hello! Greetings from Australia. Canberra has a population of around 300,000 people. It is currently Spring. During Spring, there is a festival called ‘Floriade’ where 1000s of flowers are planted in amazing patterns. From Claire.
I just heard Jack (5) asking George (10) to play chess with him, saying, “I’ll go easy on you.”

hope you feel better soon. And giggle to chess match. Who won?
Do you know, I have no idea!
So what’s Maximum Ride like? James Patterson is such an awful writer, but I can’t help reading him, lol! Have read the adult books that the flying children idea comes from.
And is The Recruit being enjoyed? Violet & Gwenny are obsessed by CHERUB (and even Ernest’s listened to The Recruit on CD) - they’ll be pleased to know someone else is reading it too!
I haven’t read enough of Maximum Ride to do any kind of review yet. As for The Recruit…well, you do have to suspend your disbelief, and I wasn’t impressed by the quality of the writing. It sort of sounded like it had been written by, er, a twelve-year-old boy (not naming names LOL) - until about three-quarters of the way through, when the style suddenly became a bit more mature. Very odd. Barney has requested the next in the series for Christmas though, so he must have thought it was good.
Have finished Maximum Ride now, and have written a review on my Now Reading page. Have not read the adult books that the flying children idea comes from, and do not intend to do so - that should give you some idea of the flavour of the review.
