She was there from Thursday to Saturday

…but she can’t remember what she did all that time LOL

Thursday: we made it to the pool in the morning and had a lovely long splashing session with the small pool all to ourselves. About ten minutes before we left, a mum and one other child arrived; apart from that, it was just us. We came home and the boys finished up some work. My laptop threw up the same error message again; not sure what that’s all about, but it is not overheating so I’m just making sure I turn it off when I’m done, rather than leaving it on pretty much all the time as I usually do. I’ll see if I can find someone to have a look at it after Christmas.

A delivery of aquarium plants arrived (at 5 p.m., so much for guaranteed-by-1 p.m. delivery) so I spent the evening getting those into the aquarium. The fish seem to like them :-)

Friday: at home all day, but I haven’t a clue what I spent the day doing. I know I went for some groceries in the morning, taking only the little ones, but I don’t know what we did in the afternoon. Hung out and ate, I think. Oh, and worked on Christmas jigsaw puzzles - finished off the big one after dinner last night. The kids’ friend R arrived early in the afternoon and was still here when I got back from working out at about 6.30.

Today Jack and I have made some more Christmas cookies, using a cookie-press to make them tree-shaped this time. I’ve sewed a tablecloth for Christmas, although it’s not quite long enough - the person who cut the fabric in the shop gave me exactly 1.6 metres, despite me saying it was for a tablecloth to fit a table that was 1.6 metres long, and him then saying they’d only cut in half-metre increments. So I thought I’d got two metres, discovered I hadn’t, went back, and they said too bad, once it’s cut it’s sold and non-returnable. Grrr.

People have been asking about a) Henry and Christmas, and b) cookie recipes - so I’ll post again later :-)
