Twenty Questions Like You’ve Never Played It Before
We’ve spent this week trying to finish the Christmas preparations - or rather, that’s what I’ve been doing, and the kids have been mostly tagging along. We headed out to the shops yesterday and got most of the remaining gifts sorted out. In the evening Freddy and Jack and I went to the Beavers Christmas party while George, Barney and Henry went to Badgers and Cadets. Today we headed out again, starting with a visit to the bank - where, because the staff had arrived late, the safe wasn’t yet open, so customers who wanted cash were being asked to stand off to one side and wait… meanwhile, while I was waiting, a customer came in to say that the cash machine had short-changed her… and then another came in and said the same thing… they were also ushered aside and asked to fill in forms - but the bank didn’t do anything about shutting down the machine
We then headed to one of those Price-Club-type places, which thrilled Henry’s heart - he does like money (both having and spending :-D) Spent more money there than I’d intended, then took a trip to the aquarium shop. Now this is more than just a shop: it’s so good that it used to be one of the stops on the bus-tour of the city. It’s now in a different location, outside the city, which puts it a little further away from us, but it’s worth it. We always end up spending at least an hour there, even if all we intend to buy is fish-food
It was Henry’s first visit to the shop today and he was suitably impressed. We brought home a few additions for our aquarium (a betta, two gourami and two more clown loaches).
And on the subject of animals, Mollycat - the one who disappeared for a week recently - is being very fickle. She came home on Saturday and we kept her in until Sunday morning. Then she took off until yesterday, and stayed in overnight last night. She’s still out as I’m writing this; I’ll be surprised if she comes in tonight. Maybe she’s decided to move out or maybe she’s just acting like a teenager
In the car today, the boys were playing Twenty Questions. There were some interesting choices of subject: Barney’s was “my own brain” and George chose “elastic”. Freddy’s was “gas from a fart”. Boys are just so… something. The questions were good though - here are the first five received by Barney:
George: Is it alive? (Yes.)
Freddy: Is it stupid? (No.)
Freddy: Is it clever? (Yes.)
Freddy: Does it stink? (Not usually.)
Jack: Is it Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer?
In: animals, conversations, cute stuff they say/do, exchange, family, getting organised, life, outings and adventures, social stuff

ROFL @ gas from a fart !!!!!!!! LOL. Boy’s are great.
Luke is at that age where every time I go to the toilet he asks “are you doing a wee or poo?” Doesn’t matter if it’s athome, or in a public toilet perhaps in Tescos, or at a friends house - the whole world needs to know.
