Better late than never
Things that are late: my babies, my recent blog-posts, and my toffee-apples.
Yes, I know that traditionally they’d have been made and eaten nearly a month ago, but the kits were on clearance in Tesco for something like 12 pence each - you’d have bought them too, admit it 
Yesterday was a non-day; Scratchy was nearly better and probably would have gone into work if I hadn’t been ill. The boys did a bit of work with him - and he came and told me all about all the stuff he had to do related to that, because of course I’ve never done any of it myself, have I? 
Actually he came and bugged me about every ten minutes on average, I think, so it wasn’t exactly restful. But I did spend most of the day in bed, only dragging myself up to have a bath and go to Beavers - with only two leaders, if I don’t go, it has to be cancelled. I was able to sit in a chair in the corner and shiver through most of it though, as we had two parents in helping - one of whom provided live trumpet music for our variation of musical chairs! 
George wasn’t feeling particularly good either, so chose not to go to St John Ambulance Badgers, though Barney and Henry went to SJA Cadets later.
Everyone seems mostly-recovered today though, and we set about catching up with all the bits and pieces we’d normally have done yesterday. And, of course, making toffee-apples
This evening the Cubs were putting on a show as part of their Entertainer badge, so families were invited along. The show was very good; they certainly earned their badges. Barney and Henry helped serve up tea, juice and biscuits afterwards, and then helped clean up - including dismantling the stage. So I’m sure they’ve earned something too, even if it’s only Akela’s gratitude
No Scouts tonight, due to the show, but that’s probably for the best, as tomorrow will be a late night.

Hope you are feeling a bit better today. I’ve been sick as a dog all week too. Managing to scrape through the day until Steve gets home from work and then crawling into bed and suffering. I’ve just about had enough of it.
