The times they are a-flyin’
Thursday: we used our “new” “study” to do some work; I think the new arrangement is going to work well. There’s certainly plenty of shelf-space now, and the room actually looks less cluttered with shelves covering one wall than it did with bookcases dotted around it. For a while there was a plan to go to the library in the afternoon, but when only about a third of the library books could be found, I decided that tidying up a bit was more of a priority. I worked out on Thursday evening, then went to Tesco and resisted the chocolate aisle and bought sports socks instead. Oh, groceries too
I did consider buying thermal undies - it was cold
Friday: plans had been made for a Beavers Leaders meeting to take place here, but my co-leader T had surgery on her thumb earlier this week and isn’t able to drive, so we agreed to meet at her house instead. We took our time getting out of the house though, because some of the swimming stuff hadn’t been washed since last weekend - and I didn’t discover that until 9.15 on Friday morning. Threw it all in on a short cycle and got everything else organised while it ran, then took it with me to dry at T’s house
Took some food too, since my late arrival made it inevitable that we’d have lunch there.
Friday afternoon: we returned all of our library books except for the two we still can’t find
Then it was swimming as usual - as mentioned last week, Jack has great confidence in the swimming-pool now. This week he was standing on the big floats in the water and leaping off them. Toby also loves the pool now. The entrance to the women’s changing room is at the end of a long corridor and he was telling me about it and pointing to it all the way down the hall. He also knows where the floats and baby-seats and various toys are kept and was pointing at that and shouting at me to get them for him - although he has no words yet, he manages to get his message across very well
He likes playing with a ball in the water, and this week he was throwing it at Henry, who was heading it back to him, which Toby thought was hilarious, and then after a minute he started trying to use his own head to push it back towards Henry too
After swimming Scratchy met us and took most people home, leaving Barney to play soccer and me to work out. There was no fencing club this week (and Barney will miss next week too, it being his birthday party), but Scratchy and Henry did go to basketball.
This morning I took Barney, George and Freddy to their swimming-lessons and worked out while they swam. After lunch (and gymnastics for George and Freddy), the boys all finished off some work they’d started during the week, then played and computer-ed for the rest of the day. Barney and Henry went out to deliver party invitations to the local invitees and I emailed the rest. Later we’d a flying visit from my friend E and her husband this evening; they wanted to inspect our new shelving - no, seriously!
- they’re thinking of buying some
E also returned my Hug-A-Bub - I wonder if I’ll ever use it again… and I gave her the remains of my Usborne stationery, since I’m never going to get round to doing anything with it. There are only so many hours in the day, and I’ve already filled most of them twice over

One of your blogroll, this full house, gives a 404.
Love the swimming stories, and amazed at how many times you are fitting in this work out lark. Considering swimming for myself, but given that I’ve fallen over early each evening this weekend, don’t think I’m quite ready for scheduling exercise in yet.
