All present and correct
Four fish still alive this morning - check (and phew, ’cause if one had been dead this morning, I’d have got the blame after dropping it on the floor last night, even if it hadn’t been the same one).
Two cats - only one came in last night, but the other reappeared this morning - check.
Five kids - hey, I’m finally managing to count to five!
- check.
How am I doing?
Barney got up in tremendous form this morning. At about 10.30, he told me he was having a great day. I pointed out that it might have something to do with his attitude. The attitude is due to the fact that he’s going camping tonight, and he’s very happy about that. So he did some French and practiced his guitar, changed the kitty-litter and made an early lunch (pasta bake) for everyone, since breakfast was nearly non-existent. George woke up grumpy but cheered up (maybe Barney was infectious?). He did some history and played his recorder. Freddy did more of his book about animals; his reading is improving by the day. His handwriting is improving too, but I suspect he’ll be like Barney, in that handwriting will never be a natural skill for him, plus he’s got to deal with being left-handed too.
Toby is the smiliest baby in the world
He generally sleeps from about 10 until 6.30ish, only waking up once in that time to nurse. He’s becoming a bit more predictable - I can usually hazard a guess at what he’ll be doing in half an hour’s time, which simplifies things, even if it does make for some oddly-timed meals
And he can count to two - he gets very cross if I try to fob him off with only one breast
